Leaving the Batman family, Spoiler has begun to find ways to tear them down. She believes the way Batman has been doing things is wrong and hurt more people then helping them. But she is not alone in that thought. Can she trust this new friend or will he be planning an Anarky?
What you need to know: Spoiler takes the spot light in this new story arc. Tired of the way Batman has been doing things and the loss of her loved one (Tim Drake), she looks for help to stop Batman’s methods. Clayface wants to be cured and be back to normal. WELCOME TO MONSTERTOWN!
What you’ll find out: Spoiler goes into Monstertown to find a new ally who also believes that Batman is doing things all wrong. Welcome the Anarky!
What just happened? Tim Drake is gone, but to Stephanie his death still remains with her. Funny moments she had with him recorded in her phone are all she has left of him; she blames Batman for the loss of Tim. Escaping Argus agents in Monstertown, she befriends Anarky to do something different and new from the ways Batman has done. Together they go to an abandoned underground train tunnel where Anarky will show Spoiler that he means well and that she can trust him; not far behind someone follows their every step. Tired of his Clayface form, Basil wants to become normal again, going into Monstertown to bring back specimens so that Dr. Victoria may find a cure for him. Basil feels the longer he stays in Clayface form the faster he will lose all he’s worked so hard in become a new person, he feels his mind slipping away towards becoming the villain he once was or even worse. With the help of Batman, Batman reassures Basil that he is still the best decision he has ever made.
Final Thought: This new story arc stared off pretty slow, but I’m excited to see Spoiler once again and this time she is on the forefront; what also is pretty awesome to see is DC bringing back other characters in the Batman gallery that have not been in the light and put them in a way that you know something insane will happen soon. Anarky’s points of views are hard to believe, but maybe he has changed or he hasn’t? That is why James Tynoin IV is such a good writer, with Spoiler, Anarky, and Clayface things will really turn the Batman family upside down. Seeing the struggle Clayface is going through and exploring what he feels is something I’ve been waiting for since he joined the team back in the first issue. What lacks in this issue is the entire team in general; nowhere to be found again. Also Batman feels out of place and maybe too lost in his own mind. But I really enjoyed the moment Clayface and Batman had. Wondering where this new arc will take us, it seems that it will head towards something awesome, hopefully.
