Wynonna Earp Season 0 #3

Editor: Carlos Guzman

Publisher: IDW Publishing

Synopsis: Wynonna was a member of the biker gang The Banditos and she finds out a member who was like her family has been killed. Her and her old gang are going to find out who killed her friend and take the fight to them.

What You’ll Need To Know: This is a prequel comic to the TV show on Syfy. What is in books and what is on TV differs so don’t expect it to be exactly the same. I personally have not watched the show but this leads a storyline consistently with what’s on the TV show. I feel like watching the show before hand however might make it a little easier to follow with the characters. It’s kinda like the whole Star Wars things, watch Episodes 4,5,6 before Episodes 1,2,3. We left off in the last issue with Keegan, enemy of Wynonna and his team pulling up to battle with the Banditos.

What You’ll Find Out: This is a classic western shoot-out! Except there’s badass women, automatic weapons, and werewolves. The Banditos are kicking Keegan’s army’s asses. Keegan was once on their side and betrayed them. He knows all of their weaknesses. Keegan  states that the funny thing about friends is that they make the worst enemies. We learn  that he betrayed them to be a superior soldier on his own. Wynonna is about to put an end to all of this, but it becomes clear that she does not have the upper hand since Keegan and his crew have one of the Banditos as a hostage!

Rating: 7.5/10

Final Thoughts: For a first time read, this is a cool, gritty adaptation to this series. I could see myself getting into the show just from reading these comics.
