Andrew Kreisberg: Sexual Harasser and Unemployed

The executive producer of the CW’s Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl Andrew Kreisberg was fired today. The show runner of these DC shows just recently (November 10) had multiple staff members accuse him of sexual harassment. This came as a shock to many, especially those who worked with him. Official producers, directors, writers, and notable stars of the show have used their authority and celebrity to condemn the heinous actions, assuring that there is no place for sexual harassment or any type of bullying anywhere, especially in a professional environment. Both men and women courageously came out as anonymous victims, so it only makes sense that both men and women with authority and celebrity publicly supported them.

Without identifying Kreisberg, stars such as Melissa Benoist, Caity Lotz, Emily Bett Rickards, Candice Patton, and more supported the victims on Twitter, whereas Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell stuck to Instagram and Facebook, respectively.

Until today, Kreisberg has been on leave while officials investigated. Today, Warner Bros. made a statement: “After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros. Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg’s employment, effective immediately”.

Because of the brave victims who took to the The New York Times and successfully exposed Harvey Weinstein as a sexual harasser in early October, many more victims are starting to feel safer and more encouraged to speak up and bring their perpetrators to justice, regardless of what their position at work may be.

There is strength in numbers and voices need to be heard. This instance of justice and others before it prove that when we listen to the victims and support them, cowards who hide behind their position will no longer have one to hide behind.

If you or someone you know is being sexually harassed or bullied in any other way, speak out. Not only is it the right thing to do, it is also the superhero thing to do, after all.

Nothing but love.
