Free Comic Book Day Gold Titles

Earlier today the Free Comic Book Day committee released the twelve Gold Sponsor titles for their most anticipated event! Free Comic Book Day will be held the first Saturday in May featuring titles from top publishers including Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, and more. The committee tried to pick a set of titles that could appeal to everyone, from superheroes, on screen franchises, video games, and titles for younger readers. Several of the covers have yet to be revealed.

One of those standout titles is BOOM! Studios Might Morphin Power Rangers Special. The book is a tie-in to the first comic book event for the popular franchise. Power Rangers: Shattered Grid begins on March 21st with issue number 25, which will be sealed in a black polybag to prevent spoilers. The event is created by writer Kyle Higgins and artist Daniele Di Niculo.

“Ever since I started working on the Power Rangers comics with BOOM! Studios and Saban Brands, I’ve been leading up to this SHATTERED GRID event, and this FCBD book is an essential part of that storyline,” said Kyle Higgins. “This issue will have something for everyone, and best of all, it’s free!”

Power Rangers: Shattered Grid tells the story about how Zordon turned to the Morphin Masters to aid the rangers in their battle against Lord Drakkon.

Silver titles will be revealed next week for Free Comic Book Day on December 19th and a full list  all 50 titles can be found in the January issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog released later this month.
