Marvel’s Super Hero Adventures to be the “All-New, All-Ages” Comic!

Look’s like kids are going to have a new series of books to read! Marvel Comics is taking a fresh stab at creating books for young readers with MARVEL SUPER HERO ADVENTURES launching this April.

With stories by Jim MCcann, writer of New Avengers: The Reunion, Hawkeye and Mockingbird, and What if? House of M, and art by Dario Brizuela, well known for other All Ages Marvel and DC books, this new series is hearkening back to the days of the Superhero Squad and other all ages books with stories “to introduce the great heroes of Marvel to a brand new generation in exciting stories with lessons, adventures, and action that readers of all ages have come to expect from the House of Ideas!” said McCann about the upcoming project.

“I’m excited about the Super Hero Adventures project because I just love comics that are really for kids, for early readers,” added series editor Sarah Brunstad. “They’re a great way for kids to beef up their reading skills, and make for perfect ‘tuck-me-in’ reading moments for parents to share. Both Jim McCann and Dario Brizuela are experts in that category; they’re incredibly talented and really get the core of Marvel characters and how to introduce them to new audiences. We want to entertain and inspire with this series, and I can’t wait for the first issue to hit the stands.”

The first series to be released will star Spider-man, Peter Parker, and Black Panther with adventures in Wakanda. With the speculation of Marvel cancelling their animated properties and the announcement of this comic series AND the animated shorts which you can view right now on MarvelHQ is Marvel looking to aim even lower in terms of audience compared to Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvel’s Spider-man? (Marvel’s Spider-man especially having just recently released)

With changes ahoy in Marvel animation with SUPERHERO ADVENTURES and the upcoming feature film Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors that could potentially spinoff into a series, it looks like Disney and Marvel’s future plans have begun.

What we do know is MARVEL SUPER HERO ADVENTURES looks to be a well drawn and hopefully well written series of comics to attract new, younger viewers to the books that spawned into the big budget movies they love.
