Pull List and Random News for 1/24/18

Welcome to the first edition of the Shoot the Breeze Pull list! This is where we’ll be letting you know what comics we’re excited to pick up on the best day of the week. New Comic Wednesday! I’m also going to throw in some news from the last week that may have flown under the radar.

The big news this week is that the TV adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn’s Y: The Last Man is looking like it might actually happen! As there are reports that FX is optimistic about the adaptation with Michael Green as Executive Producer, having just left the same position on American Gods. I have a good feeling about this as FX’s track record has been outstanding lately and after Legion they’ve shown they don’t have any problem adapting comics to TV.

But on to the comics! Here is my pull list for the week.

Monstress #13 – It’s finally back! After seven months away Marjorie Liu’s dark fantasy masterpiece returns with an oversized issue!

Sex Criminals #21 – Another big image series comes back from hiatus. Hoping this is better than the last arc, which lost a step from the steller first couple.

Black Magick #10 – Can witches and witch hunters put aside their differences when faced with a common enemy? We’ll find out as this fantastic arc heads toward it’s conclusion.

Ringside #14 – Only the second to last issue! Sad to see this gritty wrestling drama end, but can’t wait to see how it does.

Imaginary Fiends #3 – Can Melba and Polly solve their first case in the FBI’S IMP division?

Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey #4 – Bit of a slow start on this, but I think shit is about to go down.

X-Men: Blue #20 – Been loving this arc, can’t wait to see how it ends.

X-Men: Blue Annual #1 – Not sure how I feel about an annual being used to start a story arc(a crossover one at that). I like it better when an annual is it’s own self contained, one issue story. But seeing venomized versions of the X-Men will be cool.

And here is a list of all the other comics coming out this week!

What are you looking forward to this week? Let us know!
