Well, this is exciting! To appeal to younger audiences, DC Comics will come out with two new graphic design prints. DC Zoom will appeal to kids at around age 11-13, middle school years, and DC Ink will appeal to kids a bit more mature with a young adult target audience.
Six years in planning, President at DC and executive editor for the new graphic design prints, Bobbie Chase, said he wanted to “go back to what we used to have in comic books” by having a younger target audience.
DC Ink is set to come out with two books in the fall with one featuring Mera and the other, Harley Quinn. Meanwhile, DC Zoom will come out with “DC Super Hero Girls: Search for Atlantis” by Shea Fontana and Yancey Labat.
I think this is a brilliant idea; too many comic books these days target mature audiences over kids who are just now getting into comic books. With these new graphic design prints, more kids would be encouraged to get into comic books and hell, maybe even they might stick to them. Let’s just hope they don’t turn out like us…
Nothing but love.
