Synopsis: “ANGRY BIRD” part one! Ever since he started horning in on New York City, the Penguin and Harley Quinn have been stuck in a cold war…and it’s about to heat up! Making a long-term investment in a Gotham City that’s crawling with Bats isn’t the Penguin’s style, so now he’s hell-bent on making Coney Island his new nest!

What You’ll Need To Know: Harley has been in the grieving process after losing a loved one. Her guilt makes her feel responsible for the terrible things that happen around her and to her friends. She refuses to see anyone else get hurt, so she decides to ghost everyone for some much needed time alone.

In This Issue: Harley decides to put her skills to use, not as an ESCORT, but a vigilante to some degree. Her radio silence with her friends doesn’t last long, since they find out with her commercial ad on TV. Funnily enough, Harley included Joker, Darkseid, and Solomon Grundy in the same commercial. Each of them sporting terrible makeup aside from the Joker. She claims to be happier and even more outgoing and carefree without her friends, but she’s absolutely lying to herself. She needs companionship, and she knows it. She has always done better with others around her. They help her thrive and truly be herself. This won’t end well, and Harley’s friends know that every bit of bad luck or bad experiences are worth it with her around. While all of this is happening, The Penguin is BACK for New York City! As you may recall a few issues ago, he made his way to Coney Island with giant mutated penguins to push everyone around, including Harley. She got him to leave with a well thought out bluff and a Joker hologram. The one man that still scares The Penguin. I doubt she can fool him twice (and we could use a new storyline with his return). He calls on a former ally of HERS to force Harley out of the way for the NYC expansion.

Hey nerds! I'm a 23 year old cosplayer from Southern California who loves comic books as well! I love going to metal and punk shows. I'm a hostess on Shoot The Breeze Comics' shows Thought Bubbles, Panel to Panel, and Guardians of the Con-Life.
Summary
We haven't really seen Andolfo in Harley Quinn that much or really recently, but she did an awesome job with everything and Harley's outfit. The way Alex Sinclair incorporates bright colors with her art works well. The ending of this issue got exciting since we get a lot more villains and familiar faces.
Good
  • Holy Batman Villains! (...Batman??)
  • Giant Swole Penguins
Bad
  • The whole Penguin thing has been done before, with almost the same kind of plot
  • Been there, done that vibe
