What You Need to Know It’s the first issue by the bestselling creative team of “Old Man Logan” and “Green Arrow”!

In This Issue: We are introduced to a strange man with a mask over his face, digging through stacks of garbage. He is on the hunt for something specific and when he finds it, the item is a strange looking nail that he places in a jar and leaves, bringing his new item to his rundown apartment, he places it on the wall with tons more just like it and lays down on his bed to pray.

Driving down a long country road, Father Wilfred thinks to his earlier conversation of getting his new job in the town of Gideon Falls. The previous Pastor of more than 30 years, Father Tom Chasely, has passed away. Father Wilfred’s superior believes that the nice, quiet town is just what he needs and is the right Leader for this new parish. After some arguing, Father Wilfred reluctantly agrees.

He arrives at the quaint little church and met with the smiling face of Gene Tremblay, Head of the Catholic Women’s League and Co-Chair of the Parish Council. The sweet little old black lady in her giant kitty sweater helps the Father in and seems a bit hesitant to tell him how the old Pastor died, despite being very close with him. After polite conversation and some set up, the two parts for the day.

Elsewhere, Norton, the young man who was garbage picking, is having his appointment with his therapist. He tries to convince her that a great evil is coming, and the signs are in the garbage. The therapist tries to believe him and also reminds him that if he continues, she will have to put him back in the Hospital. He reluctantly agrees but on his way out he finds another Nail. Another clue to what is going on.

That night Father Wilfred is awoken by a very DEAD Father Tom, telling him to follow him before someone notices him missing. In a hurry, Father Tom leads Father Wilson outside to the fields where Norton sees a vision of a Black Barn. Wilson finds Gene Tremblay…stabbed to death..

Summary
EEP! I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up, but I was not disappointed. This is definitely creepy in the way that it is written and the sketchy art style. The ghost of Father Tom made me squeak outload it was creepy looking! The writing can be a bit hard to read sometimes with the boxes and the small font but once you get through that the writing is very well done. If you like creepier, almost horror like comics this issue is for you. I especially enjoyed the dialogue between Norton and his therapist about the concepts of good and evil, God and the Devil. It sets things up a bit for you to think about and what could possibly be coming in later issues. Which I am now definitely now looking forward to finding out about!
