We all know Bizarro World, aka Htrae. It’s an alternate Earth, it’s shaped like a cube, and is full of Bizarro versions of the DCU, right? Not anymore! After the results of today’s Superman #44 by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, Bizarro World will never be the same!
Over the course of the “Bizarroverse” storyline, we’ve seen a Bizarro that is fed up with the selfish nature of Htrae and wants to leave it all behind. As he gets more and more frustrated, especially why Superman arrives to overshadow him, he flies straight to the moon of Bizarro World, Noom, and behind him, his planet changed shape!
After being convinced by Superman to rescue his friends in the Super Foes, Bizarro once again finds himself unappreciated and disrespected by the people of his planet, and decides to let it go. As Bizarro World collapses, Bizarro boards a ship, very much like the one that Superman was sent to Earth in by Jor-El. His son, Boyzarro asks f he can come with him, but Bizarro says no, leaving his son to die. Superman and Superboy take Boyzarro with them back to Earth as Bizarro World implodes, killing everyone left on it and removing the planet from the DCU!! The emotional and epic conclusion is drawn expertly by Doug Mahnke:
So there you have it, Bizarro World is no more! Bizarro is off in a ship to an unknown location, and Earth 0 has a new resident: Boyzarro!
Superman #44 is out now, by Tomasi, Gleason, and Mahnke.
