Batman: White Knight #7

Script, Art, Covers: Sean Murphy

Colors and Cover Colors: Matt Hollingsworth

Letters: Todd Klein

Batman has been put in jail for his crimes he has committed against Gotham City and now Jack Napier has made Gotham Great Again… so he thinks. With a freeze cannon that Neo Joker has stolen, she has put half of Gotham under ice. With the GTO and Jack trying to think of a plan to stop Neo Joker and save the citizens of Gotham, Jack’s body begins to fail him and starts rejecting the medication. Slowly The Joker claws his way out to make his grand appearance.

What you need to know:

The GTO has had it with Batman and after a long car race around Gotham City; they have finally beaten Batman (with Jack’s help) and have put him in prison. But as they take him off the streets, another has gained full power under their noses and now she has shown part of her full strength. Her demands are simple, give her back The Joker and she’ll release everyone else. With their backs against the wall, Jack asks Harley for some advice and the advice she gives him no one will be waiting for… especially Neo Joker.

What you’ll find out:

After this issue, there is only one more issue and Batman: White Knight is over. Sean Murphy and Matt Hollingsworth have been making great A issues with everyone that has come out. As a “what if” comic and not part of the canon universe, White Knight was amazing! It was awesomely meshed with Tim Burton’s Batman, with a splash of Batman The Animated series. But now as Neo Joker becomes Gotham’s most wanted villain we now will see the final battle for Gotham. With Jack Napier’s body failing in the end, and the Joker clawing his way out, can Batman trust Jack to save Gotham? Or has The Joker finally begun to pull Jack’s strings?

What just happened?

With Jack pleading Batman for help to stop Neo Joker, Batman gives Jack an ultimatum that will tear down everything Jack Napier has worked hard for. Together Batman, Jack, and the GTO all get themselves ready for the final battle, but this time Batman has brought all the toys for everyone to share. Ohh, yea, everyone is getting themselves a damn Batmobile! And many of those beauties you will all recognize.

Summary
Sean Murphy and Matt Hollingsworth’s great run is coming to an end, and we’re all going to miss this amazing story. They have shown us that a comic does not need to be cannon to be great, and I think they are right. They have the free will to do and write what they want and not feel held to do things that will only work for the character for future crossovers and events that revolve around the character. Most times these events feel so pushed down our throats, we forget about the amazing stories that made us love the characters. Batman: White Knight will go down as one of the best Batman comics of all time.
