Marvel Studios and their recent film The Black Panther with a majority Black cast including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyogo, Michael B. Jordan, Angela Bassett, Forrest Whitaker, etc. is etched in superhero and film history. Today, officially, the Ryan Coogler’s film has surpassed Titanic (which ended at $659.3 Million) as the third highest box office run for a film domestically with $661 Million. With a budget of $200 Million, Black Panther is breaking barriers, not many have paid attention to.

It was reported recently as well that the 35 year ban on cinema in Saudi Arabia will end as a screening of Black Panther on April 18. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, amid a host of economic and social reforms, strokes an agreement with AMC to build 40 theaters in the next 5 years.

This begs the question, what is next for not just for Black Panther but for diverse films in general? Kevin Feige confirmed a Black Panther sequel and let the speculation begin about the plot. But as was reported by our Editor-in-chief, James Portis, what about the comics. shows, and films for other diverse comic characters? Is there room for more diverse characters as fan backlash has led Marvel Comics arm to relaunch all their books without some of their new characters? Time will tell.

I do a few reviews (Black Panther) and I do news. I am a fan of both Marvel and DC heroes, Black Panther, Superman, Batman, The X-Men, Watchmen, to name a few. I also am streamer of a high degree, Netflix, Hulu plus, HBO, & Prime Video occupy a lot of my time when I'm not trying to save world in Education.
