All-New Wolverine #32-The Orphans

Synopsis: It was only a matter of time before The Orphans made their return. Laura seemed to have persuaded them last time to end the conflict. Turns out she didn’t..

What You’ll Need To Know: The Orphans had almost done the job of executing Wolverine and her team. They had almost been successful in every tact. They had the Muramasa blade – the blade that could really kill Wolverine or anyone with a healing factor-molded into bullets. The Orphans even rounded up Logan, Sabretooth, and Lady Deathstrike and shot them in the head…they later got Daken too. Laura was able to extract the bullets from their skulls and they survive which is a little weird because I thought the Muramasa blade destroyed at the cellular level. In her meeting with The Orphans, she proved a point saying the mutants in their captivity could kill them if they wanted, but they are not the monsters. Laura accepts that she had murdered those people when she was a child but she wants to make amends by tracking down the people who MADE her murder The Orphan’s parents.

In This Issue: We get a flashback into Laura’s childhood when she was being controlled into killing Amber’s (the founder of The Orphans) father. Along with Amanda Griffin, one of the co-founders of The Orphans, they were able to come to a common ground before and let Laura live. She and Amanda decide they are going to go after the people who did this to them. Laura is apprehensive to let Amanda go along because she might kill or get killed. She says she won’t stop her or take her revenge away from her. It takes a lot for Laura not to kill now, especially if it’s the people who are responsible for the death of her mother and people who forced her to kill. If she hadn’t resisted, she would have killed a child her age too.
