Synopsis: This is the conclusion to Old-Woman Laura and All-New Wolverine. She is retired as Wolverine and Gaby has taken over. Her last wish was to kill Dr. Doom, save her sister Bellona, and save the people of Latveria.

What You’ll Need To Know: So pretty much all of the supervillains have been taken down, all except Dr. Doom. The world is at peace except for the country of Latveria, which is under total control of Dr. Doom. Many of the world’s heroes have met their fate under him. Laura finds out she is dying from an error in her genetic makeup. She is completing her bucket list with the aid of Gaby, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Wasp, and Maria Hill, who we actually lost last issue. Laura tried to take the hit for her but it didn’t work. The women have had a hard time trying to take down the Doom Bots, but everyone’s tech isn’t working under Doom’s Dom around the country.

In This Issue: So wow, we start the issue with a crying Gaby cradling Laura, we all know she’s dying. We just lost Maria Hill, but they’re not ready to lay her to rest in an Earth where Dr. Doom still exists. They devise a plan to get to Dr. Doom directly, which works, and may just get them killed. He of course mocks them and their efforts, and says if he can take down a god like Thor, he’ll take them down with ease. Doom even tells Laura he respected her more as a killing machine and he even used her as a child. Laura convinces him that she is not that person anymore and even tries to pick up Mjolnir (if you remember, we saw it a couple issues ago when Doom talked about who he bested in The Doom War) to prove that. It doesn’t quite work to her favor, but she is still a great person and hero. We all know that Laura has come so far in her life in the comics, even if she is a really young comic book character. She thinks she has Doom in her grip but it is the other way around. She has the chance to take his head but is deceived. Doom is a withered old man and he knew Laura’s plan all along. He has plans of his own…To use her body to restore his strength. Little does he know, she’s actually dying. Will that plan backfire on him?

Hey nerds! I'm a 23 year old cosplayer from Southern California who loves comic books as well! I love going to metal and punk shows. I'm a hostess on Shoot The Breeze Comics' shows Thought Bubbles, Panel to Panel, and Guardians of the Con-Life.
Summary
All-New Wolverine has been one of the more solid comic books in Marvel’s lineup and always delivers. I knew DC fanboys who loved this book. With Logan returning as Wolverine, Laura is stepping back to X-23, in her own self-titled comic. Hopefully it will be as good as the way Tom Taylor writes and we continue to have solid, detailed artwork like we have had here. Ending with the storyline Old Woman Laura was a good move.
Good
  • Laura kicks Doom’s ass in a way you wouldn’t believe
  • Gaby’s roast session
  • Emotional, noble moments
Bad
  • That’s the cover for a good conclusion? Really? That’s it?
