What Just Happened:
Diana is attacked by Supergirl, but something is clearly not right with the girl of steel. She is under mind-control and ranting nonsensically about the mysterious Dark Gods. Diana must engage in a fierce battle without hurting Supergirl, which proves to be a little difficult.
Meanwhile, Jason looks for answers and seeks out The Fates. He learns the shocking news: the Dark Gods aren’t just coming. They’re already here.
Steve Trevor is alerted to a threat and Diana and Jason regroup to seek out the issue, but someone else has business with Diana.
What Mary Has to Say:
Good golly, Miss Molly. Segovia knows how to draw one hell of a fight scene. The fight between Diana and Kara is absolutely jaw-dropping. It showcases the real power of Supergirl that often gets left out. I cannot say anything bad about the art. The colors are perfect and Saida Temofonte knows exactly what to do when lettering a big fight.
Robinson is crafting one heck of a mystery and I’m intrigued to see more of The Dark Gods. I still have issues with Diana’s inner monologue; it still doesn’t quite feel like her, but Jason’s conversation with The Fates is really engrossing. The twist at the end shocked the hell out of me. It’s another step towards the pre-Flashpoint universe and one that I did not expect.
