What You Need to Know:

Gwen has finally returned to her Earth after being thrown into one of the many alternate Gwen universes, thanks to another Gwen! While the way back was a little rough, Gwen doesn’t have time to rest now that she is back. Her first order of business: visiting J. Jonah Jameson and having a little chat about the identity of Spider Woman hoping to change the timeline…

What Just Happened:

The newest issue of the Daily Bugle is out with Gwen’s name and picture all over the cover as being Spider-Woman (but lovingly named “Spider-Gwen” in the title). News is traveling fast and soon the Mary Jane’s are being called by Gwen to a band practice and know something is up. After a little girl-talk therapy session, the girls decide to do what they do best and jam it out.

Meanwhile, Matt Murdock is on the road to ruin The Hand corporation trying to gain control from the inside and out. But as he fights his way (literally and figuratively) back to the top, Gwen decides it’s time for a visit. The showdown between the two is more intense on a verbal level, but with some help, Gwen is able to get his Time Watch away from him. Now that her peace has been made with him, Gwen is more than happy to make peace with the rest of New York as she allows the cops to slap cuffs on her.

My Thoughts:

Gwen has got her groove back and she is taking names and kicking butt. She has been through a lot and questioned everything as both Spider-Gwen and Gwen Stacy that to see her finally finding the peace she has long lusted after is so satisfying. Props to wonderful writing as always to Latour during some intense scenes between Gwen and her bandmates and Gwen and Murdock. It can be hard having girl-talk, even as a girl, but Latour gets right to the heart of what’s really going on beautifully.

Summary
Latour and Rodriguez’s run of Gwen is coming to an end and its sad for everyone. But things have to start getting wrapped up for Gwen and her story. Murdock is at the end of his ropes and Gwen must now face the world with her identity being out there. Hopefully it will go better than the last time a Spider Person revealed their identity!
