NEWS FLASH! Jonesing For More Jessica Jones, Kelly Thompson’s Got What You Need

Kelly Thompson is writing the new run of Jessica Jones.

*Cue fan-person squee.* Ok, now to the good stuff.

There was a question of who would take over Jessica Jones after Brain Bendis left Marvel and signed an exclusive contract with DC. Well, Marvel teased an image from the first two issues of the new run yesterday, giving us a glimpse of what the powered private eye has been up to since Bendis’ departure, as well as telling us who would be writing this new run.

Kelly Thompson, writer of such titles as, Mr. and Mrs. X and Hawkeye: Kate Bishop, will be working on this run with a new creative team, which Thompson confirmed on Twitter, as well as clearing up some confusion about the nature of the series.

This is not a miniseries. This is a new ongoing series with Thompson at the reins. A double issue will drop once a month for three months before a brief hiatus followed by three more months of three more double issues. Thompson in a tweet told her followers that the three double issues every three months will act as sort of a season (like with TV shows) with a finale, then a break, before a new “season” starts back up again.

The first issue is available digitally in a 40-page double issue which can be found at Comixology right now for $4.99.
