CBS has announced that Jordan Peele will host and narrate a new revival of The Twilight Zone. He is also producing along with Simon Kinberg and CBS Television Studios for CBS All Access, Peele will be following in the footsteps of original host, Rod Serling. Sterling created and narrated the show’s original run from 1959-1964. Last year it was announced that CBS would revive The Twilight Zone for their streaming service All Access with Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Kinberg’s Genre Films. Peele and Kinberg are set to serve as executive producers along Audrey Chon, Win Rosenfeld, Rick Berg, Carol Serling and Greg Yaitanes.
Peele said “The realization, for me, was that it was an opportunity to attempt to continue with Serling’s mission, If we approach it without ego and sort of bow to Serling, that will hopefully suffice for our fellow ‘Twilight Zone’ fans but also bring back a show that I think is needed right now. Because it’s a show that has always helped us look at ourselves, hold a mirror up to society.”
