What You Need to Know: Thor and his band of Brothers (literally) have made an agreement after releasing their sister Hela to unite their Kingdoms in order to fight the Queen of Cinders and her Fire Goblin army for the throne. While some have disagreed to the marriage of former ruler Hela and the current ruler Blader, Thor has taken it upon himself to ask Loki to help “kill” him so that he can recruite the Valkyries. Just in time too as there is one last guest to the Wedding, Hela’s love THANOS.

In This Issue: Thanos has arrived at the wedding and looking none too pleased to see Hela who is more than overjoyed. But the two have little time to celebrate as Queen of Cinders crashes the party with her army looking to finally destroy her rivals for the throne once and for all. And to make things better, it seems that Thanos is there to ‘officially’ break up with Hela now that the Infinity Stones have resurfaced. But Thor and the armies of Valhalla arrive just in time to even the odds. Including taking Hela’s Crown and becoming the King of Hel to take on and defeat Cinder who flees before the final blow. With her gone, Hela demands her rightful place and it is Lady Karnilla wo takes the Wedding vows instead of her love. As her wedding present, Loki is able to send Thor, Blader and now Lady Brunnhilde back to the realm of the living where he also takes something from Thor’s boat as his payment and Thor must now continue his fight in the War of the Realms.

SO, there is a lot going on this issue and while it can seem overwhelming, Aaron’s writing makes it run smooth and entertaining. There is something going on in every page despite the full out war and everything is important. But let’s not forget the little nibbles of humor thrown in to make things more entertaining, such as Thor’s deep moment on what he might do now that his Master Thor is dead. The artwork on certain characters such as Cinder and Thor when he is the “King of Hel” is absolutely amazing to look at and some of my favorite pages. It also is a great set up for what will happen now that one of the Realms has been conquered since there are still more realms Thor has to deal with. Also, if you aren’t reading Infinity War, this is a great reason to start with the appearance of Thanos and his big news.

Summary
Nothing good ever happens when Thanos shows up and this is proof. But even still, Thor won’t let that stop him from doing everything he can to defeat Cinder and get Hel back in order. And boy does it show with amazing Storytelling and artwork on every page. He may not be worthy to hold the Hammer but he is still God of Thunder for a reason.
