What Just Happened:

Harley read a bunch of comics about herself that tore a hole in the continuity of the DC universe. She was able to put it back, but there were repercussions that rippled beyond the events.

This Week:

A tall strong man jumps in front of a van that is about to crush a sweet old man in a very Superman-esq rescue, except it isn’t Superman, it’s Captain Triumph! And he’s here to stop the fascists!

Meanwhile, over on Coney Island, Harley is revisiting Nostalgia Lane with her mom over the good ol’ days with the Joker; even if she doesn’t want to run back to him, they had good times. She remembers how easy it was to be a crook and how hard real life can be. We feel ya, Harley. Real life is not for the faint of heart.

Harley sees Captain Triumph in action and she and her mom can’t stop talking about him the rest of the night. Turns out he’s a repercussion of the continuity breakdown and it’s all Harley’s fault he’s not in his own time. Harley is told to help him until he can be put back where he belongs.

However, he’s headed to the mayor’s office because he can’t find his favorite library in Brooklyn. He’s making a mess when Harley shows up looking like she walked out of an issue of Bombshells and tries to convince him it’s not so bad here. He’s sad until Harley lets it slip that she’s the reason he’s stuck and that makes him mad!

My Opinion:

One of the things I really loved about this issue was the throwbacks to the Golden Age of comics mixed with modern technology. It was like we were seeing a little piece of history mixed in with our zany Harley storytelling. I felt like it was a breath of fresh air.

This is a fun intro from last issues' huge crossover. I really like Captain Triumph and am even tempted to go look him up. Harley is her usual self and it's a lot of fun to see her interact with him.
  • Harley from Bombshells
  • Captain Triumph
  • Harley's Mom is a bit of an odd addition

Have your say!
