Synopsis:

Undercover in the Shi’ar Empire! Rogue and Gambit must infiltrate the Shi’ar homeworld in order to save a precious package. But how are they going to wine and dine the Empire’s elite when its soldiers are hot on their trail?

What You’ll Need To Know:

So the egg they were sent to retrieve by Kitties wasn’t just a big deal to The X-Men, everyone wants it. The egg hatched into another Rogue! Not really though, it was just a powerful telepath who makes other people see illusions she wants them to see as a defense mechanism. Where did she get this powerfully telepathy? Well, her father, Charles Xavier of course. Yup. This girl, Xandra, is the lovechild of Xavier and Lilandra The Majestrix of The Shi’ar Empire. Now, her aunt is out to kill her. She didn’t do anything, as she was just born, however, it’s her power they’re after. Xandra was just kidnapped by Nightshade and Rogue and Gambit by The Imperial Guard, now she has to pretend she never hatched and they have to find a way out alive.

In This Issue:

So we left off on the kidnapping of Rogue and Gambit and them bond upside down, powers disabled. We seem to run into this predicament a lot, which is a funny parallel but a little corny at the same time. You’d think their foes, especially people they’ve encountered over and over would know that it takes little to no effort for a grand escape, but lazy writing I guess. Plus they are able to grab Xandra on the way out.

I love how’re they’re including every intergalactic team, like the Starjammers who come to their rescue with Cerise, who’s helped them from the beginning. She is the nearest thing Xandra has to a mother. A thankful Xandra offers to help Rogue with her powers. It would make physical affection a lot easier. But this plan, it’s way too easy. Of course, we can’t have our happy ending just yet, Rogue mysteriously disappears in the dust when Imperial Guard attacks.
