What you need to know:
Ahab using the twins has turned Nightcrawler, Shatterstar, and Logan in Hounds. This results in Ahab setting them to kill the original X-men, Nightcrawler almost drowns Cyclops. Cannonball has to beat Shatterstar to a pulp to save Jean. X-force locates Young Cable and strike.
What just happened?
Ahab wants confirmation that Cyclops is dead and using his dreadnought of a ship plunges towards the depth of the ocean to find out, but it appears his agenda for mutant kind is only just beginning.
Cannonball arrives at the Mansion to find the remaining X-men in a sorry state of affairs and that the other half of the team have been turned into Hounds. Meanwhile the rest of X-force are bombarding young Cable, however, Jean does not agree with the plan to kill each other and takes charge using her telekinesis to separate them and the tubes hold her friends in the air.
We finally get some answers on the reasons why adult Cable was murdered, but the strange thing being he is Cable and the same thing will happen to him one day, lets get our head around that, also why is Ahab is so keen to kill one of the original Five, we also find out why kid Cable needed Mimic.
Its all out war under the sea has the End Game approaches.
There is a certain poetry when it came to this penultimate issue, we are finally seeing the ultimate fate of the original five and why them being in the present is completely wrong and also if they are not in the past the ripples will be devastating.
I am digging the action, the good use of the characters to tell this well-structured story, the art from Pepe is on point as he captures some amazing action scenes and delivers some originality especially in the final scenes.
This was another fantastic issue with a shocking conclusion and well worth a read, I am looking forward to seeing how Ed wraps up all the loose ends to reset the timeline.
